This is a second video made to promote Lau Nau’s new album Valohiukkanen. The idea was to go out on the lake with a smoke machine and capture something that had very little color information.
I was commissioned by Music Finland to do a series of short online spots to promote their upcoming 10″ compilation vinyl. It’s released on Record Store Day on 19th April 2013 and features tracks by six bands: Phantom, Husky Rescue, Millennium, Sin Cos Tan, K-X-P and LCMDF.
Music video for Janne Laurila. The first single Salainen haave from his upcoming album.
Ville Pirinen is a hard rocking visual arts freelancer and a musician living in Tampere, Finland. He plays in a multitude of bands including Black Audio, Seremonia, Steel Mammoth and draws and writes comics such as “Ornette Birks Makkonen” and “Yhesti yhes paikas”.
Kuoleman tappajan kuolema was relatively ambitious project taken into account I had very little budget for it. First idea that came to my head months ago was to bury Laura in the ground. I begun the project by writing the script based on that simple idea.
Chef santeri and Anna-Liisa Nikus have just published a cook book on how to prepare black sausage in several ways. I was hired to shoot a short web commercial for it. I was very excited to get to work with the legendary M.A. Numminen on this video. Chef Santeri aka. DJ Sane and Numminen rehashed an old legendary Numminen track Dägädägä for this ad.
Second video I shot for Seremonia from their newly released self titled album. This was a quick shot in between two longer more story driven music videos. First one was Rock ‘n’ rollin maailma that begins the story. Hopefully we get to shooting the third one some time this year.
Music video for Tuusanuuskat shot on iPhone 8mm app.
Goodiepal or Gæoudjiparl van den Dobbelsteen, whose real name is Parl Kristian Bjørn Vester, is a controversial Danish/Faroese musician/composer. The eccentric and self-made Goodiepal has influenced the course of modern music through radical excursions into computer technology and media art.
We had a very small crew for this video. Here’s a good hint, if you’re shooting in front of suburbian drug store with masked men, realistic looking guns and wads of cash you should definitely call the emergency services and let them know about it. They’ll be very pleased and actually it is common practice.
This is propably the most fun I’ve had on a shoot ever! Everyone had a hard time keeping their poker at all times of the day. So what you see is the footage between the smirks and the laughter we managed… We wrote the script with Ville in just a few hours. Let’s face it, it’s a pretty easy subject to write about! The shoot took us about nine hours. The edit one and a half days. So about a two day project in total.
Video for Steel Mammoth’s Nightmare Ad Nauseam from the LP Nuclear Rebirth. Available from Ektro Records. Steel Mammoth’s music video was shot with my brand new Panasonic GH2.
Jussi Lehtisalo is the founder of Circle and he runs the label Ektro Records. In addition he plays in groups such as Pharaoh Overlord, Ektroverde, Steel Mammoth and Rättö ja Lehtisalo just to name a few.
Eleanoora Rosenholm are releasing a new album and we did the first music video for it. For this shoot I was mainly inspired by posters and DVD covers. There’s things you just can’t do when shooting horizontally. Sometimes I even prefer to shoot 3:4 aspect ratio because of this and I think it worked well for the shots where you see Eleanoora looking down or up, waving her hands high in a prayer and reaching for the sky. Also the upward shooting airplanes are a particular favourite of mine.
Risto music video from the latest compilation album.
Music video for Ignatz from his 2011 album I Hate This City.
